Tamira Paszek won a three-set thriller over Bethanie Mattek-Sands to win the $220,000 Bell Challenge women's tennis tournament.
Paszek needed 2 hours, 47 minutes to top the American Mattek-Sands 7-6 (8-6), 2-6, 7-5 and win her second career title. The 19-year-old was making her third appearance in a WTA Tour final, having previously won at Portoroz in 2006 and finishing second at Bali in 2008.
Mattek-Sands was making her second career final appearance, having also finished as the runner-up here in 2008. It was the first meeting between the two players.
Paszek collected $37,000 for her win, while Mattek-Sands took home $19,000.
