Because of an elbow injury, the former number 1 female tennis player, 28-year-old Justine Henin, will have to skip the rest for the 2010 Tennis season.

According to a statement published on her website, the injury occurred during the 2010 Wimbledon tournament making it impossible for her to resume practice until the end of October.

Henin, who has a track record of seven Grand Slam titles, just returned to play tennis after she had retired for 18 months.

Her comeback after the long hiatus was successful, reaching the finals in the first two tournaments she played and also winning two titles in Den Bosch and Stuttgart.

In the 2010 Wimbledon quarterfinal against the Belgian Kim Clijsters, Henin fell badly. Even though she was able to complete the match, she was diagnosed with a damaged elbow afterwards.

Her next official event is the Hopman Cup team event, scheduled for January 1, 2011.
