Kevin Anderson from South Africa marched into the Quarter finals of the SA tennis Open on Thursday as he dismantled Dudi Sela from Isreal 6-2, 6-4 at the ATP World Tour 250 hard-court tennis tournament in South Africa. Anderson slammed a total of 13 aces and managed to convert five break points to take the win in 1 hour eight minutes.
The Johannesburg native has been doing great this year as he kicked off the season with a semi final appearance at the Brisbane International. Anderson made the fact of three Africans in the draw of an ATP event possible after it was a fact in the year 1996 almost 14 years ago. Karol Beck from Slovakia will be Anderson’s next opponent. Beck beat Go Soeda of Japan in three tough sets 3-6, 7-5, 6-0 to register his place in the quarterfinals
Adrian Mannarino came from being a set down to defeat Denis Gremelmayr, 6-7(2), 6-4, 6-4 in 128 minutes. His next opponent will be Canadian Frank Dancevic who ended hopes of local qualifier Frits Wolmarans with a straight set victory 7-6(4), 6-3 and marched ahead in the tournament.
