After battling days of controversy, Indian ace Sania Mirza will marry Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Malik today (April 12), while her wedding reception will take place on April 15 as scheduled, confirmed the tennis stars' spokesperson.
Speaking to the media Sania's PRO said, "I would like to confirm that the nikah of Sania and Shoaib Malik will take place today in Hyderabad. However, the venue and timing cannot be confirmed for security reasons. Please respect the fact that it is a very personal affair for both the families."
Spelling details of today's 'nikah', the spokesperson added, "Sania will be wearing a red saree, which was worn by her mother when she got married. Shoaib is wearing a black Sherwani designed by Shantanu and Nikhil. The mehendi function will be held tomorrow, followed by the sangeet on April 14. Finally, the reception will take place on the 15th."
Shoaib Malik had come under criticism for denying marriage with Ayesha Siddiqui even after admitting that he signed the 'nikahnama'. The Pakistani star last week divorced Ayesha, after the latter filed a case of cheating against him, which was eventually withdrawn.
