Former world number one Justine Henin has been handed a wildcard for the BNP Paribas Open at Indian Wells, which starts on 8 March.
Henin came out of retirement in January and reached the Australian Open final before losing to Serena Williams. The 27-year-old Belgian joins the likes of Maria Sharapova, Ana Ivanovic and compatriot Kim Clijsters in the draw.
"I hope I'm able to claim my first title of the season," Henin told the tournament's official website. "I am very happy that the BNP Paribas Open has granted me a wildcard, and I look forward to returning to Indian Wells.
"I am excited to be back on WTA Tour, and hope to continue the success I have had thus far in 2010." Henin reached the final of her first event back on the Tour at the Brisbane International but pulled out of Sydney with a gluteal injury before finishing runner-up to Williams in Melbourne.
